About me

I’m Melissa, founder of Steady Steps Parent. Like many parents, I know that raising children can be the most rewarding — and the most challenging — role you’ll ever take on. When behaviour feels overwhelming, or when you’re second-guessing yourself, it can be hard to know where to turn.

That’s why I created the Steady Steps Method: a practical, supportive programme that gives parents clear, ready-to-use strategies for handling difficult behaviour, building stronger connections, and helping children grow into happy, resilient individuals.

I am a certified parenting practitioner, having trained with a leading expert in this field. My certification means that the strategies I share are grounded in proven psychology-backed approaches — not just theory or personal opinion — and can be adapted to your family’s unique situation.

Before launching Steady Steps, I spent over twenty years working with leaders, teams, and organisations to build confidence, communication skills, and resilience in high-pressure situations. Now, I bring that expertise to families — breaking big challenges into practical steps, and giving parents the psychology-backed practical tools they need to help children behave well, and grow in confidence and self-reliance.

What you’ll find in working with me isn’t abstract theory. It’s practical scripts, techniques, and encouragement — delivered with empathy, patience, and a belief that every parent deserves to feel supported.

Alongside my work with parents, I also speak at schools and parent communities, sharing strategies on managing behaviour, building resilience, and supporting children’s wellbeing.

Whether you’re navigating the challenges of co-parenting and want your child to feel secure, juggling a busy career and wishing for calmer evenings at home, or supporting a child who’s struggling with confidence or bullying, the Steady Steps Method is here to help. You’ll see real changes in your child’s behaviour — fewer battles, more cooperation, and a stronger sense of connection. And as you guide them forward, you’ll also gain the confidence and tools to parent with less stress and more certainty.
